Four public school districts are hosting Principal Interns for the 2008-09 school year: Aldine ISD, Houston ISD, Humble ISD and YES Prep Public Schools.

Houston A+ Challenge’s aspiring principals program was designed in partnership with the region’s K-12 public school districts, Teach For America Houston, leaders from KIPP and YES Prep public schools, Region 4 and area universities.

Houston Endowment, the Brown Foundation and local corporations including JPMorgan Chase, Washington Mutual and Wachovia have invested generously in the Academy.

As the region’s leading nonprofit advocate for public school improvement since 1997, Houston A+ Challenge has provided an engine for systemic change by helping leaders at all levels develop their own capacity to improve student achievement.

We have raised and invested millions of dollars to support area schools and districts through leadership training programs, collaborative networks, model program development and whole-school reform.

Houston A+ Challenge’s New Visions in Leadership Academy for seated principals has trained more than 300 school leaders since 1999.
